Luxury watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. officially unveiled the Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly at the Singapore Grand Prix, a timepiece designed in collaboration with the celebrated Formula 1 driver. The watch, a blend of high-end horology and contemporary sporting style, is described by the company as capturing the driver’s vision and aesthetic.

The project was “deeply personal” for Gasly, a French driver who competes in F1 for Alipine. He aided in the design from choosing textures and signing off on the watch’s refined appearance to positioning the tourbillon as its central mechanism.  “More than lending his name, he shaped every detail of this watch, meticulously selecting textures, defining its pared-back elegance, and ensuring the tourbillon would serve as its heart,” according to H. Moser. “The result is a timepiece that feels like an extension of Pierre himself: bold, refined, and unmistakably unique.”

(H. Moser)

Gasly went with a rich chocolate fumé dial, reflecting his preference for understated tones. This is contrasted with the strong, contemporary presence of the 5N red gold Streamliner case. On the bracelet version, a discreet ruby is set at the ten o’clock position on the bracelet, a subtle reference to Gasly’s racing number.

(H. Moser)

The Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly is available in two limited editions: A sport-chic edition on a chocolate rubber strap, limited to 100 pieces, is priced at $98,500. A collector’s edition on a red gold bracelet with the ruby detail, limited to 10 pieces, is priced at $148,500. The 10 future owners of the full gold version will receive a helmet replica and can participate in a yet-to-be-determined activity with Gasly in 2026.

H. Moser & Cie. Serves Up Perpetual Calendar Watch With Smoked Salmon Dial https://www.maxim.com/style/h-moser-cie-serves-up-perpetual-calendar-watch-with-smoked-salmon-dial/ Tue, 02 Sep 2025 12:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=270432
(H. Moser)

H. Moser & Cie. has never been a brand to shy away from bold design. Back in 2023, the stylish indie watchmaker introduced a touch of irreverence to its most daring collection, the Streamliner Centre Seconds, with a “smoked salmon” dial that quickly became a fan favorite. Now, that same brunch-ready color is making an anticipated return, this time in the refined Endeavour Perpetual Calendar.

This new model brings together three of H. Moser & Cie.’s icons: the rich smoked salmon dial, the elegant Endeavour case, and the intuitive Perpetual Calendar. The dial itself features a vertical griffé finish that creates a vibrant, almost mineral-like texture. This finish, combined with the brand’s signature fumé effect, makes the color shimmer with subtle reflections ranging from soft copper to warm brown. This tasty smoked salmon hue is a nod to timeless vintage elegance in a modern timepiece.

(H. Moser)

At the heart of the watch is the HMC 800 hand-wound movement, celebrated for its smart design and ease of use. A small central hand indicates the months, while a large date window at 3 o’clock features the “Flash Calendar” function for an instant date change at midnight. The power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock displays the movement’s seven days of autonomy. Setting the time and date is a simple process, and can be done at any time of day without the risk of damaging the movement. Furthering the brand’s minimalist philosophy, the logo is applied to the dial in a transparent lacquer, serving as a subtle, secret signature.

(H. Moser)

The watch is housed in a 42mm 18-carat white gold case paired with a dark brown alligator leather strap. With a height of 13.1mm, it has a measured, yet authoritative, wrist presence. The curved sapphire crystal on both the front and back of the case provides a clear view of the dial and the beautifully finished HMC 800 movement, which operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and has 32 jewels.

The movement also features a double barrel for the seven-day power reserve, hacking seconds, and an interchangeable Moser escapement with an original double hairspring. The pallet fork and escapement wheel are made from gold, and the movement and all of its components are hand-finished and decorated. The Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Smoked Salmon is a collector’s-worthy watch that’s available now for $68,000.

H. Moser & Cie Turns Up The Heat With Pioneer Spiced Aqua Watch Collection https://www.maxim.com/style/h-moser-cie-turns-up-the-heat-with-turquoise-orange-pioneer-spiced-aqua-watch-collection/ Tue, 24 Jun 2025 09:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=263925
(H. Moser)

H. Moser & Cie. is cranking up the heat with a striking new “Pioneer Spiced Aqua” summer watch collection with three steel models marked by vibrant turquoise and dazzling orange hues. The colorful three-watch drop emphasizes bold design and robust functionality, suitable for diverse adventures on land and underwater, with all models boasting 12 ATM water resistance.

The new lineup includes the Pioneer Centre Seconds, Pioneer Tourbillon, and the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton, each equipped with an in-house Manufacture caliber. The brand describes these watches as “three jolts of watchmaking power” designed to electrify collectors’ wrists with audacious color palettes and technical sophistication.

The Pioneer Spiced Aqua timepieces’ contrasting color schemes offer a “tropical cocktail” aesthetic, with each dial possessing a distinct personality. The Pioneer Centre Seconds model is powered by the automatic HMC 201 movement, while the Pioneer Tourbillon features the HMC 805 caliber with a double hairspring. At the pinnacle, the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton houses the HMC 811 movement, showcasing an open, sculptural architecture.

(H. Moser)

Visual dynamics are a key feature across the collection. On the Pioneer Centre Seconds and Pioneer Tourbillon, leaf-shaped hands and inner flanges utilize colored Super-LumiNova, creating a vibrant interplay of orange on turquoise or vice versa. In a “Concept” version, these models eschew traditional logos and indices, further highlighting the clean, vibrant dials.

The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton, with its fully skeletonized dial, features a small orange domed sub-dial with a transparent H. Moser & Cie. logo and indices and hands with turquoise Globolight inserts, allowing light to emanate from within its intricate structure. The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Spiced Aqua stands out with its transparent design, revealing the HMC 811 skeleton caliber and its in-house designed and produced flying tourbillon with a cylindrical hairspring. This intricate movement, visible through the dial, is said to serve as the timepiece’s “technical manifesto.”

(H. Moser)

The Pioneer Tourbillon Spiced Aqua, with its flamboyant orange dial and turquoise strap, imposes its rhythm with the HMC 805 automatic Manufacture caliber, featuring an original double hairspring. Meanwhile, the Pioneer Centre Seconds Spiced Aqua, showcasing a striking turquoise fumé dial and white rubber strap, embodies effective simplicity powered by the HMC 201 automatic caliber.

H. Moser’s Pioneer Centre Seconds Spiced Aqua retails for $16,900, the Pioneer Tourbillon Spiced Aqua is $59,500, and the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Spiced Aqua tops off at $93,500.

H. Moser & Cie. And Alpine Accelerate Formula 1 Racing Partnership With Innovative Watch Duo https://www.maxim.com/style/moser-cie-and-alpine-accelerate-formula-1-racing-partnership-with-innovative-watch-duo/ Fri, 30 May 2025 09:37:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=261135
(H. Moser)

Avant-garde Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. and French automotive brand Alpine have unveiled a groundbreaking collaboration that extends far beyond traditional brand logo swaps, introducing two timepieces engineered with the precision and performance demands of Formula 1 and endurance racing in mind. The high-octane partnership, which was memorably launched at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, aims to redefine the synergy between horology and motorsport, focusing on authentic engineering integration rather than mere marketing.

To coincide with F1’s Spanish Grand Prix, H. Moser & Cie. presented the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition, a duo of watches that embody the daring spirit of both brands. The Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition is said to be inspired by Alpine’s drivers. The chronograph features a skeletonized version of the high-flying AgenGraphe movement, developed by H. Moser & Cie.’s partner AGENHOR. The open dial, a result of direct input from the drivers, reveals the intricate mechanics, mirroring the exposed engineering of a race car. The blue and white color scheme evokes speed and Alpine’s signature identity.

(H. Moser)

Design elements draw direct inspiration from the racetrack. V-shaped bridges visible through the dial nod to single-seater suspensions, while the central bridge is shaped like a driver’s helmet. The skeletonized rotor, positioned on the dial side, echoes the dynamic lines of an Alpine A110 wheel rim. Emphasizing minimalism and legibility, the chronograph features a central minute and seconds display and a flyback function for instantaneous restarts, crucial in the split-second world of Formula 1. The HMC 700 skeleton calibre boasts a contemporary anthracite finish and a 72-hour power reserve.

The Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition takes a different approach, designed as a practical tool for the engineers and mechanics behind the scenes. This world-first watch combines a digital core with an analogue display, developed on a specific technological platform in close collaboration with the Alpine teams. Its purpose is to streamline communication, accelerate processes, and save crucial fractions of a second.

(H. Moser)

The watch features a “magic” black screen that remains silent until activated, displaying GMT with country selector, a split-seconds chronograph, a perpetual calendar, and an F1 mode with a countdown to races and team-specific alerts. This digital functionality is paired with a small, domed Funky Blue fumé dial displaying the time and date with the H. Moser & Cie. logo in transparent lacquer. Compatible with Android and iOS, it syncs via Bluetooth and offers a year-long power reserve in time-only mode or enough for six Grand Prix in connected mode.

Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., stated in a release announcing the timepieces that the goal was to create “a measuring instrument that meets the demands of a Formula 1 team, a tool designed to accompany their missions and further improve their race against the clock.” Both models are offered as a set, limited to 200 pieces, priced at $70,000. The connected Mechanics Edition can also be purchased separately by owners of the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine models launched in 2024.

H. Moser Cracks A Smile With Egg-Inspired Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up Watch https://www.maxim.com/style/h-moser-cracks-a-smile-with-egg-inspired-pioneer-centre-seconds-sunny-side-up-watch/ Wed, 16 Apr 2025 10:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=256503
(H. Moser)

H. Moser & Cie. is scrambling the watch game with its Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up, an egg-inspired timepiece that serves up an omelette’s worth of whimsical details. The Sunny-Side Up notably features a vibrant yellow fumé dial, Moser’s signature gradient treatment, which bathes the watch face in a sunburst glow reminiscent of a perfectly cooked yolk. The dial is further complemented by faceted appliqué indices and lume-filled hour-markers for heightened readability even in low-light settings.

(H. Moser)

The watch’s playful spirit continues with a crisp white rubber strap option that evokes the pristine hue of an eggshell as it contrasts with the rich yellow dial. Aside from cracking a smile in the often serious world of haute horology, the new release also maintains the Pioneer collection’s rugged elegance. The Sunny-Side Up is designed to be ready for the rigors of daily life—or perhaps a freak brunch mishap—thanks to a sturdy 40mm stainless steel case, 120-meter water resistance, and domed sapphire crystal that protects its cheerful visage.

(H. Moser)

Flipping the Sunny-Side Up over reveals the beating heart of this egg-themed creation: an in-house HMC 201 automatic movement, which boasts a three-day power reserve. The bi-directional pawl winding system efficiently replenishes power, while the proprietary Straumann hairspring guarantees the artful precision that H. Moser is renowned for. The movement is finished with an anthracite treatment featuring distinctive double stripes and partially skeletonized bridges.

As is typical with H. Moser releases, there’s a clever narrative woven into the design, and this time it may be well be pondering the age-old chicken-and-egg conundrum. With a price tag of $15,900, the Sunny-Side Up is a luxury watch with a uniquely quirky sensibility, making it an ideal timepiece to flex at your next weekend brunch, or virtually anywhere else.

H. Moser Goes Full-Throttle With Pink Formula 1 Skeleton Watch https://www.maxim.com/style/h-moser-goes-full-throttle-with-pink-formula-1-skeleton-watch/ Mon, 06 May 2024 13:34:40 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=232814
(H. Moser)

Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. is revving up its sporty Streamliner collection with a limited-edition pink skeleton timepiece unveiled during Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix weekend.

The H. Moser Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition Pink Livery is a striking ode to the avant-garde brand’s horological partnership with the BWT Alpine F1 team. The skeletonized stunner’s vibrant pink hue nods to Alpine’s racing colors while also capturing the candy-coated energy of Miami, where pink can adorn everything from Art Deco hotels to the exotic sports cars that rumble down Ocean Drive.

H. Moser Streamliners draw design inspiration from the sleek curvature of 1930s-era trains, but the line’s latest timepiece is a thoroughly modern marvel. The 42.3 mm collectible’s main dial pops at 12 o’clock with a smaller domed dial made from pink synthetic corundum that mirrors the pink rubber strap and appears to float under the watch crystal.

(H. Moser)

The HMC 811 automatic movement is built in-house from 171 pieces and fully-skeletonized on the front and back, where wearers can admire its oscillating gold rotor through a transparent caseback. It also has a one-minute flying tourbillon with a blue cage bridge and a cylindrical balance spring spinning at 6 o’clock.

Each of those balance springs are painstakingly hand-shaped by specialists at H. Moser’s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. They take about ten times longer to make than traditional balance springs—a detail that speaks to H. Moser’s mission of imbuing ultra-modern timepieces with rigorous craftsmanship.

The Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based independent watch brand is known for blending cutting-edge designs—one previous Streamliner was wrapped in Vantablack material, another had a camo pattern dial—with technical expertise befitting a company that can trace its origins back to 1828.

The latest limited edition Streamliner is water-resistant to 120 meters and features Super-Luminova indices and Globolight inserts above the blue hour and minute hands for maximum visibility in the dark.

(H. Moser)

It’s H. Moser’s second Alpine collaboration, dropping a few weeks after a blue version was revealed at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. Only 100 blue watches were produced. The pink models are even more exclusive, with just 20 available.

Edouard Meylan, CEO and owner of H. Moser, said in an interview during the Miami Grand Prix weekend that both Alpine models were designed as part of a five-year partnership with the F1 team, which tapped French driver Pierre Gasly as the watchmaker’s first-ever ambassador.

Meylan said Alpine reached out to collaborate after Luca de Meo—the CEO of Alpine’s parent company Renault—became a collector of H. Moser watches. He added that the Alpine editions were designed to be high-octane twists on the brand’s existing Streamliners.

(Photo: H. Moser)

“It’s very skeletonized and very three dimensional,” Meylan said of the pink Alpine. “It’s a tall skeleton. It’s also bolder than what we do in terms of colors, with the rubber strap and the dial. Of course, our customers still have the opportunity to put the watch on a bracelet, but we wanted something a little bit bolder and more unique for this special edition.”

Both limited-edition Alpine watches are available at H. Moser’s online store—the pink version is priced at $98,000 and the blue is $89,000. They’re just the latest F1-themed watch releases that are driving interest among collectors.

TAG Heuer’s recent collaboration with New York fashion brand Kith revives TAG’s original Formula 1 Series 1 watch and IWC enlisted racing superstar Lewis Hamilton for a signature edition of the Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph. Hamilton’s fellow British driver, Lando Norris of McLaren Racing, won his first Grand Prix in Miami with an upset victory over Max Verstappen.

H. Moser’s Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Watch Is Made From Spacecraft-Grade Metal https://www.maxim.com/style/h-mosers-endeavor-perpetual-calendar-watch-is-made-from-spacecraft-grade-metal/ Wed, 22 Feb 2023 16:42:16 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=203051
H. Moser

It’s oftentimes simplicity that proves the most striking in the world of luxury watches, especially stripping down a dial to the basics and then building it back up with some of the rarest materials on Earth. For its new Endeavor Perpetual Calendar, haute horology specialists H. Moser took things a step further and used a metal rarely seen in watches, if at all.

H. Moser

The handsome new Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Tantalum Blue Enamel builds off the watchmaker’s penchant for using rare dial and case materials, including the anti-corrosive tantalum–more commonly found on spacecraft thanks to its dense, strong and anti-acidic qualities.

For good measure, the movement within the Endeavor Perpetual Calendar uses a date complication that accounts perfectly for the Leap Year (or rather, the absence thereof this year).

H. Moser

The journey to develop such a precise and exquisitely crafted watch from such a rare material was a personal one for H. Moser & Cie. CEO Edouard Meylan.

The extremely malleable tantalum metal, which rather remarkably does not tarnish, requires “advanced metallurgical expertise,” the watchmaker noted.

“When I was 18, my parents gave me my first Haute Horology watch, which was made from
tantalum. Ever since then, I have dreamed of introducing this metal at H. Moser & Cie., in spite of the challenges it poses,” he said. “It took more than two years of testing before we were able to polish the surfaces of our case, a feat that few have been able to match, with most preferring to sandblast or satin-finish tantalum.”

H. Moser

H. Moser’s characteristic Grand Feu dial rounds out this impressive watch in striking fashion, using four different color pigments and a process of washing and crushing that’s then applied in an ombre effect.

That lends itself to extreme precision and requires to be fired twelve times to create a truly unique dial for each watch.

Of note, H. Moser calls the final product “resolutely contemporary, with a particularly complex texture,” and one glance is enough to drive home that point handsomely.

H. Moser

The impressively minimalist dial design itself is also a highlight that lets the enamel finish do the talking, with crisp 12 and 6-o’clock indices and a date window (set to automatically change at midnight) placed at 3-o’clock–no losing track of the time.

H. Moser

And yet, the watch itself can simply be set by using the crown function at any time of day, a touch so simple yet rarely seen in the world of haute horology.

The finished product is set on a rich kudu leather strap, and the out-of-this-world timepiece boasts a similarly wish list-worthy price tag of about $82,500, driving home the point that, as H. Moser says, “real luxury is a question of identity.”

H. Moser’s Wild New Genesis Watch Is Backed By Blockchain https://www.maxim.com/style/h-mosers-wild-new-genesis-watch-is-backed-by-blockchain/ Fri, 16 Dec 2022 07:16:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=198817

H. Moser’s first step into the metaverse begins with a trio of blockchain-backed timepieces, the first being the Endeavor Centre Seconds Genesis.

(H. Moser & Cie)

Powered by H. Moser’s automatic 200 movement, the all-black watch is presented in a 40mm microblasted steel case baring a 3D-printed bezel, which features a disjunct pattern of cuboids meant to represent digital pixels in 3D space. The pure Vantablack dial, the gentle curves of the leaf-shaped hands, and the hand-stitched gray kudu leather strap juxtapose this digitally-inspired geometry.

(H. Moser & Cie)

The design seen on the sapphire crystal is actually a QR code that allows owners to access H. Moser’s new “dedicated digital and virtual ecosystem,” through which they can purchase certain future limited editions, enjoy H. Moser’s membership benefits, receive exclusive invitations to brand launch events, and more.

(H. Moser & Cie)

Most interestingly, this virtual ecosystem is structured through a dedicated app that allows watch authentication through blockchain provided by Aura Blockchain Consortium. This app will offer traceability through the watch’s lifecycle via certification, warranty, and insurance services, as well as a full H. Moser metaverse featuring a sort of digital tour of the brand’s history and headquarters at the Rhine Falls.

(H. Moser & Cie)

Limited to 50 examples, the H. Moser is priced at just under $30,000 and available to reserve now.

H. Moser Unveils Black Hole-Inspired Watch With Vantablack Dial https://www.maxim.com/style/h-moser-unveils-black-hole-inspired-tourbillon-watch/ Wed, 24 Aug 2022 09:07:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=191542
H. Moser

If you’re in the market for a watch that raises the bar, or rather, completely obliterates expectations in the best way possible, the new H. Moser Streamliner Tourbillon is a timepiece worthy of being your next horological obsession.

Priced at an astronomical $119,900, the watch debuted this week at Geneva Watch Days, the Streamliner Tourbillon is the latest addition to the sleek Streamliner Collection and joins an already impressive lineup of stunning timepieces (including this spring’s vivid green H. Moser Endeavour release).

H. Moser

The new H. Moser Streamliner Tourbillon defies expectations at every turn, using ultra-dark Vantablack coating on the dial, a material more commonly found in the fields of aeronautics and astrophysics, and meant to evoke a black hole.

Vantablack is a modern material (formed in 2012), believed to be the darkest substance in existence — it’s precisely the reason why the 5N red gold indices and integrated bracelet stand out so handsomely.

H. Moser

This revamped flying tourbillon (positioned at the 6-o’clock spot on the deep black dial) still manages to hit all the right marks of the classic “haute horology” movement.

H. Moser

And seeing as NASA this week released a rare audio clip of what a black hole actually sounds like, the timing of the ultra-luxe watch drop couldn’t be more appropriate.

The watch’s tourbillon itself was designed to appear floating “in the middle of a black hole,” an impressive nod to deep space and the origins of the otherworldly Vantablack hue.

The floating effect is intentional and carefully developed — even the indices are secured from the back of a dial with a plate, and they appear or disappear from view based on the viewing angle of the dial.

H. Moser

The inner complexities of the in-house movement (produced by H. Moser’s sister company) are visible through the crisply designed, intricate caseback.

H. Moser

For all its intricacies, the H. Moser Streamliner’s case still clocks in at an agreeable 40mm, although the rest of its features are a decided step up from more common, everyday timepieces.

That blend of classic watch design with next-level production hits all the right notes — H. Moser notes that the stunning Streamliner is “an understated powerhouse, a timepiece to be enjoyed to the fullest.”

H. Moser & Streetwear Giant UNDEFEATED Collab On Limited Edition Luxury Watch https://www.maxim.com/gear/h-moser-streetwear-giant-undefeated-collab-on-limited-edition-luxury-watch/ Wed, 15 Jun 2022 10:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=122073
H. Moser

The luxury world and the world of streetwear might have once seemed like odd bedfellows, so to speak, but the lines are blurred on the daily between the two now — particularly with the latest stunning launch from H. Moser and streetwear brand UNDEFEATED.

H. Moser specializes in arguably some of the most intricate watches on the planet, and the Streamliner Chronograph UNDEFEATED — with a price tag of $55,000 — is certainly no exception.

It stands apart from past H. Moser Streamliner models thanks in large part to the anthracite grey DLC coating on the cushion case and bracelet links, but that’s not the only thing this visually striking timepiece has going for it.

H. Moser

How exactly did the luxury watchmaker and Los Angeles streetwear brand UNDEFEATED team up?

UNDEFEATED co-owner Eric Cheng has been a longtime fan of the H. Moser brand, and the two disruption-minded companies found a perfect fit from there.

H. Moser

The use of anthracite grey was dreamed up by UNDEFEATED, as luck would have it, and the incredibly textured Black Tiger Camo fumé dial is also a nod to UNDEFEATED’s work.

The Streamliner model itself nods to trains of the 1920s and 1930s, bearing the same name and evoking smooth curves and a fast-moving pace.

H. Moser

The UNDEFEATED logo graces the 12’o-clock marker on the dial itself, while the way the watch tells time is both incredibly unique and precise in its own way.

The H. Moser UNDEFEATED Streamliner uses a grey outer minute marker on the dial to track seconds, while an inner minute track counts the minutes themselves.

H. Moser

What’s the catch with the H. Moser UNDEFEATED Streamliner Chronograph? Well, only 76 pieces are available — remember, this watch will set you back $52K — yet it’s a visually appealing work of art blending streetwear and luxury timekeeping.

Sounds like a worthwhile investment in our book, one that goes perfectly with an UNDEFEATED jacket.
