Luxury watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. officially unveiled the Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly at the Singapore Grand Prix, a timepiece designed in collaboration with the celebrated Formula 1 driver. The watch, a blend of high-end horology and contemporary sporting style, is described by the company as capturing the driver’s vision and aesthetic.

The project was “deeply personal” for Gasly, a French driver who competes in F1 for Alipine. He aided in the design from choosing textures and signing off on the watch’s refined appearance to positioning the tourbillon as its central mechanism.  “More than lending his name, he shaped every detail of this watch, meticulously selecting textures, defining its pared-back elegance, and ensuring the tourbillon would serve as its heart,” according to H. Moser. “The result is a timepiece that feels like an extension of Pierre himself: bold, refined, and unmistakably unique.”

(H. Moser)

Gasly went with a rich chocolate fumé dial, reflecting his preference for understated tones. This is contrasted with the strong, contemporary presence of the 5N red gold Streamliner case. On the bracelet version, a discreet ruby is set at the ten o’clock position on the bracelet, a subtle reference to Gasly’s racing number.

(H. Moser)

The Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly is available in two limited editions: A sport-chic edition on a chocolate rubber strap, limited to 100 pieces, is priced at $98,500. A collector’s edition on a red gold bracelet with the ruby detail, limited to 10 pieces, is priced at $148,500. The 10 future owners of the full gold version will receive a helmet replica and can participate in a yet-to-be-determined activity with Gasly in 2026.

Jake Paul Flaunts $5 Million ‘Emerald Billionaire III’ Watch At Miami Press Conference Hyping Gervonta Davis Fight https://www.maxim.com/style/jake-paul-flaunts-5-million-emerald-billionaire-iii-watch-at-press-conference-hyping-gervonta-davis-fight/ Thu, 25 Sep 2025 11:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272596

How’s this for a knockout timepiece: Jake Paul flexed a $5 million Jacob & Co. Emerald Billionaire III watch at the press conference promoting his controversial Netflix fight with Gervonta Davis.

The emerald-studded watch is a gaudy tour de force of horology and jewelry. It’s a “pièce unique,” meaning it’s a one-of-a-kind creation that won’t be duplicated. The Emerald Billionaire III is powered by an exclusive Jacob & Co. skeleton manual winding caliber, the JCAM39, featuring a tourbillon.

(Photo Credit: Getty Images/Courtesy of Jacob & Co.)

However, the true spectacle is its dazzling exterior. The 54 x 40mm case, crafted from 18K white gold, is a canvas for 714 emerald-cut emeralds, totaling an astounding 147 carats. The gems are meticulously set across the case frame, inner ring, bridges, and even the crown, creating an uninterrupted cascade of glittering green fire. The bracelet is also 18K white gold, fully paved with 504 of the emeralds.

(Jacob & Co.)

The bold choice of wrist candy only served to add more curiosity to Paul’s strange matchup with Davis, which is scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and will be streamed live on Netflix. The bout, which is being billed as a 10-round exhibition with a 195-pound catchweight, has drawn criticism from boxing fans and commentators due to the massive size difference between the two fighters.

(Photo Credit: Getty Images /Courtesy of Jacob & Co.)

Paul, who typically fights at around 200 pounds, will be facing Davis, a multiple-weight world champion who campaigns at a far lighter 135 pounds. Paul, at 6-1, also notably towered over Davis, 5-5 ½, at the press conference. The fight was moved to Miami after a standoff with the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, which raised concerns over fighter safety.

But the fight rules, as announced September 23 by Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian, reveal few accommodations for the size difference between the fighters. The bout will be contested at a maximum of 195 pounds, knockouts will be allowed, official judges will score the fight, and 12-ounce gloves will be used.

Andy Foster, executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, told USA Today that Paul’s latest stunt fight does not exactly sound like an exhibition match. “It’s not great,” he said, and of the weight discrepancy between the two boxers, he added, “It’s concerning.”

Paul has a professional record of 9-1, including a decision victory in his Netflix fight against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, who was battling health problems and had retired from the ring nearly two decades before the bout. Davis is undefeated at 30-0, but his last fight, with Lamont Roach in March, was scored a majority draw. Davis retained his lightweight title belt, but many observers thought Roach deserved to win a narrow decision.

The Paul/Davis fight will not count toward either boxer’s professional record, but ringside judges will be present to determine a winner. In the meantime, Paul’s watch game has apparently already scored a victory for over-the-top wrist wear.

After dropping stream of different limited-edition capsules with high fashion labels like Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana, Kim Kardashian’s Skims is gearing up to launch its largest and most comprehensive collab yet with Nike. A massive line spanning seven collections, 58 silhouettes, and 10,000 different possible looks is designed for a wide demographic of athletes ranging from the casual gymgoer and pickup game participant to the most elite competitors—several of whom have been tapped to promote the joint venture between the multibillion-dollar shapewear brand and the athleticwear giant.

Three-time NCAA volleyball champion Madisen Skinner (Skims/Nike)

Among them are tennis icon Serena Williams, gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, judoka world champion Romane Dicko, Paralympic athlete Beatriz Hatz, double gold medal-winning Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda, world champion sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and three-time NCAA volleyball champion Madisen Skinner.

Serena Williams (Skims/Nike)

All of the above appear in a short Body at Work ad directed by Janicza Bravo, which reinterprets phrases generally associated with objectification in a way that’s aligned with Skims’ founding, body-positive philosophy.

Double gold medal-winning Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim (Skims/Nike)

“Put my body on a pedestal,” the athletes say in the commercial. “Celebrate it. Marvel at it. Glorify it. Its power. Its strength. Give my body your full attention. See it. Appreciate it. Understand it. And then, you’ll see what I can really do with it.”

Sha’Carri Richardson (Skims/Nike)

“Whether you’re a top recruit like our college athletes, a legend like Serena, or simply
showing up for yourself in the gym, every woman wants to look and feel amazing
while working out and achieving their goals,” said Kardashian. “Our mission is simple: to redefine the rules of women’s activewear. No more compromises. We’re combining high-performance innovation with sexy, style-forward design for all women who demand both.”

Kim Kardashian (Skims/Nike)

Three core collections have been introduced at launch. Designed for yoga and other studio activities, the Matte collection offers staples across 21 styles that employ Nike’s sweat-wicking Dri-FIT fabric to provide mid-level compression, smoothing and sculpting. The 11-piece Shine collection’s quick-drying capability and extra stretchiness suits it to strength training, while the seven-piece Airy collection features breathable, mesh-like material in both fitted and oversized silhouettes to accommodate low-impact activity and everyday wear.

(Skims/Nike)

Additionally, NikeSkims is rolling out four seasonal collections to accompany the Matte, Shine and Airy collections. An eight-piece Vintage Seamless range features seamless knitting and a stylized worn-in look. The Matte Tricot collection takes the core Matte collection further with three track-inspired layers. Weightless Layers join the Airy collection in low-impact use cases, while the Shiny Nylon oversized pants add another touch of streetwear-worthy style.

The NikeSkims lineup launches on September 26.

Meet Olympic Medalist And Rising Model Alysha Newman https://www.maxim.com/news/meet-olympic-medalist-and-rising-model-alysha-newman/ Wed, 24 Sep 2025 10:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272270
(stillvIka)

Alysha Newman has already earned a lifetime’s worth of athletic accolades. As a champion pole vaulter, she set a series of high school, collegiate and national records before becoming the first female Canadian to win an Olympic medal in her respective sport at the Paris Summer Games in 2024. But that’s merely the foreword to her future: “I’m a woman who realizes that dreams don’t need limits,” she tells us.

Newman has launched partnerships with international brands like Nike and Swiss watch brand Rado; posed for luxe lingerie label Agent Provocateur; amassed a sizable social following approaching 1 million across Instagram, TikTok and OnlyFans; designed a forthcoming apparel collection; and helped build the Bolton High Performance Athletics Centre, a grassroots training facility that provides athletes of all backgrounds with access to world-class equipment and coaching. She’s truly practicing what she punningly preaches in her Instagram bio: “Raise the bar, wherever you go.”

Tell us about the journey that’s taken you from star athlete to rising model.

When I was a little girl, I was told I had to choose: be an athlete or be a model. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t be both. But for a long time, I believed them and chose athletics. I poured my heart and soul into it. I became the first Canadian high-school girl to clear four meters in pole vault. At the University of Miami, I broke the school record, the ACC record, and even the Canadian national record in 2016. Then came the 2024 Olympics in Paris. I bounced back from injuries and won Olympic bronze, becoming the first woman from my country ever to medal in pole vault. There were tears, joy, and gratitude. Part of me still can’t believe it.

(stillvIka)

Now, I’ve stepped into documentaries, partnerships with incredible brands like Rado and Nike, and even shot Celebrity Family Feud to raise money for my charity. And now, I’m living a full-circle moment. I grew up dreaming of being in Maxim. To be featured now feels surreal and humbling. Honestly, I’m so happy with my life.

What is it like to stand on the podium with an Olympic medal and represent your country?

The truth is, the medal itself is only a moment—a flash of validation after 15 years of sacrifice. For me, the real magic wasn’t even the medal. It was the feeling of being in the zone, completely present and giving everything I had. In that state, winning doesn’t exist, losing doesn’t exist, and even medals don’t exist. It’s just you, the bar, and that sense of flow where nothing else matters.

And then, standing on the podium, I felt the other side of it: the pride of being Canadian. To know I had become the first woman from my country ever to medal in pole vault was humbling. Since then, I’ve even been honored by King Charles III, which deepened that sense of responsibility and reminded me that I’m not just competing for myself, but carrying the flag for my country.

What was your absolute favorite modeling shoot?

In 2020, I did a global campaign with Agent Provocateur where I pole vaulted in lingerie. It sounds wild, and it was, but it was also transformative. For the first time, I claimed my sex appeal as an athlete. Nike even approved the spikes I wore that day. We shot in Spain with an all-female creative team, alongside other incredible athletes, and for three days it felt like pure empowerment. I remember feeling like a Viking—raw, strong, and free. That shoot wasn’t just beautiful pictures; it was the moment I realized I could embody strength and sensuality at the same time.

What is your favorite Instagram post on your feed and why?

One of my favorite posts is more than just a highlight; it’s about one of my favorite themes in life. When I was a kid, people told me I was talented, and I believed it. But as I got older, I realized something: Some people try to get by on talent alone. And others, like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, play as if they had no talent at all, working every day as if they have to earn it. I chose the second path. I immersed myself in the craft as if talent didn’t exist. I studied every inch of the runway. I trained my sprinting, my strength, and my core, chiseling myself, piece by piece, into the athlete I wanted to become.

(stillvIka)

So after [Paris 2024 Summer Olympics], I posted a slow-motion vault with an audio track saying, “I don’t believe in talent. Talent is not enough anymore. It’s about hard work and dedication.” That soundtrack had voices like Mike Tyson reminding us that talent can start the journey, but only hard work finishes it. And that’s what I love about it. It’s not just about me, or even about great athletes. It’s about all of us. Whatever you’re chasing, if you treat it like chiseling stone, day after day, effort by effort, you can achieve more than you ever thought possible.

What’s your best advice for aspiring models or influencers?

(stillvIka)

In grade school, I once got the right answer on a test but didn’t use the method my teacher wanted. She wouldn’t give me the gold star, but she did give it to other kids who got the same answer. So while everyone else went to recess, I went into her desk, liberated a gold star from her drawer, and put that gold star on my paper all by myself. It’s sad how much we hope and wait for someone else to give us the gold star we want—friends, colleagues, a partner, or even strangers. That’s my advice: Don’t wait for the world to give you permission. Don’t wait for someone else to validate you. Find confidence in yourself and give yourself that gold star!

Do you have any upcoming projects that we can look forward to?

What I’m most excited about right now is giving back. I’ve achieved so much in my own career, but what matters most to me is making sure the next generation of athletes has the chance to chase their dreams too. For too long, reaching the Olympic level has required not just talent and grit, but a significant financial advantage. That means a lot of incredible athletes never get the chance to see how far they could go. I want to change that. That’s why I’m building the Bolton High Performance Athletics Centre, a first-of-its-kind facility designed to give athletes access to world-class equipment, expert coaching, and a true home to grow into champions. My goal is simple: to ensure no future Olympian is left behind because of the family or circumstances they were born into. That’s the legacy I want to create.

(stillvIka)

What inspired you to become a model?

When I was younger, I never understood why the world divided things into categories: athlete or model, power in sport or power in beauty. To me, they were always different expressions of the same thing. Even now, the women I admire most are diverse: Rihanna, Michelle Obama, Marilyn Monroe. What connects them isn’t one lane; it’s the ability to hold presence, to channel strength from within. Modeling, for me, was always about that. Not just how you look, but the power you carry when you walk into a room.

Your guilty pleasure movie or TV show ?

I’m not much of a “sit on the couch and watch TV” person, but my TikTok algorithm would give me away. It’s full of clips from the Kardashians and Dancing with the Stars. I’ve always loved a good documentary too, especially anything about science, sport, or nature. But if I had to pick a true guilty pleasure, it would be Dancing with the Stars. It actually inspires me. Sometimes I watch and think, “Maybe I should take dance classes.” I even talked to a couple of the girls at Arsenic, my agency, who dance, and we joked about signing up for classes together. So, DWTS, if you’re out there, call your girl up. Let’s do this!

The Tony Hawk Skateboard That Landed The World’s First 900 Trick Can Now Be Yours https://www.maxim.com/sports/the-tony-hawk-skateboard-that-landed-the-worlds-first-ever-900-trick-can-now-be-yours/ Tue, 23 Sep 2025 09:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272224
(Robert Benson/Getty Images for SEGA)

The very skateboard used to make the sport’s most memorable trick will be available as part of a 99-piece collection of Tony Hawk-owned gear and awards to be sold by Julien’s Auctions at the Loews Hollywood Hotel this week. That would of course be the complete Falcon 2 model on which Birdman spun his never-been-done 900-degree rotation at the 1999 X Games, thus spawning arguably the most significant vert moments in skateboarding history.

Tony Hawk’s 1999 X Games “900” Falcon 2 Skateboard (Julien’s Auctions)

Hawk will be on site, a Julien’s spokesperson told Maxim, to congratulate the lucky buyer who nabs this bit of skating history. A portion of all proceeds will benefit The Skatepark Project, a nonprofit Hawk founded “to create safe, inclusive, and community-led skateparks in underserved communities.”

1982 Powell-Peralta Stained Finish “House Fire Survived” Pro Model Skateboard Deck (Julien’s Auctions)

Only two lots in the sale are expected to fetch five figures or more. The headlining 900 board is expected to sell for $500,000 to $700,000. As Hawk told Complex, a security guard in the crowd stole this deck at X Games 1999. Hawk wasn’t pressed, but he did get it back when that guard’s neighbor snitched. It wasn’t supposed to be in this sale—Hawk’s wife wanted it to go to their kids. “We have so many kids,” Hawk responded. “Are we going to cut it into pieces?”

Meanwhile, two of Hawk’s 1982 Powell-Peralta decks—his first pro models—will also hit the block. The earlier deck is valued at $7,000 to $9,000, but another rare, wood-stained iteration could go for $40,000 to $60,000 thanks to a one-of-a-kind smoky patina it acquired in a house fire. And that was only the first time the board narrowly survived a freak accident, as it was later unceremoniously tossed into the street by staff of a shuttered Quiksliver store that had borrowed the board from Hawk. Fortunately, an eagle-eyed aficionado rescued the artifact and put it up for sale, at which point Hawk’s neighbor spotted the deck and connected him with its unwitting buyer so he could buy it back.

Tony Hawk’s Bones Brigade Team-Issued Leather Jacket with Fringe (Julien’s Auctions)

The board Hawk had originally planned to ride when he attempted his first competition 900 on will also appear in this sale, though it’s only supposed to gavel at $5,000 to $7,000. He’d used this board to win bronze in the previous day’s “Vert Singles” competition, and every element of it was set up to Hawk’s liking. However, the morning of the “Best Vert Trick” competition, it cracked during a photoshoot for ESPN The Magazine, forcing Hawk to ride an alternate and giving the cracked deck the distinction of being “The Board That Almost Made History.” The roughed-up knee pads, sneakers, and helmet that Hawk wore that fateful night could all sell for $4,000 to $8,000.

Estimates throughout the rest of the sale pale in comparison. For $1,000 you snatch Hawk’s fringed leather jacket given only to members of the Bones Brigade—the storied 1980s-era skate team that included Hawk as well prolific trick creator Rodney Mullen and fellow pioneer Steve Caballero. And what Zillennial wouldn’t clamor for their own Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award blimp or Teen Choice Awards surfboard? There’s two of each, all from the aughts that are currently hovering around $2,000.

Tony Hawk’s Ridden and Signed 1999 X Games “Vert Singles” Skateboard Deck (Julien’s Auctions)

Those prices are insane, since Hawk’s superlative significance to skateboarding is analogous to that of baseball’s Babe Ruth and basketball’s Michael Jordan. And while the live auction officially kicks off on September 23 at 10 a.m. PT, early bids for many of the offerings are already at or approaching the top of their pre-auction valuation. Porsche X Head Collab On 911 Targa-Inspired Ski Collection https://www.maxim.com/gear/porsche-x-head-collab-on-911-targa-inspired-ski-collection/ Mon, 15 Sep 2025 09:05:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=271314
(Porsche/Head)

An RWD 911 may be required to hibernate for the winter in all-season areas, but that doesn’t mean that one can’t still experience a downhill brand of Porsche performance and speed in the interim before spring. Once again, the German marque is teaming up with revered ski maker Head, this time pegging the new limited-edition planks to the 911 Targa, the uniquely rigid convertible featuring a fixed roll bar behind the seats that was conceived as the world’s first “safety cabriolet.”

(Porsche/Head)

Thankfully, instead of fixing some bizarre piece of carbon fiber onto the skis, the namesake element is merely alluded to in the form of their silhouette, which looks like a Targa bar, and the metallic color located behind the bindings.

(Porsche/Head)

There are two models to choose from. The Porsche 7 Series is a high-performance ski designed for groomed slopes. Inspired by Giant Slalom racing, the ski’s 70-millimeter center width is designed feel sleek and sporty. For all-mountain skiers, the Porsche 8 Series features an heftier, more dynamic 88-millimeter center width to more easily take on a wide range of snow conditions.

Both models are equipped with a cutting-edge EMC (Energy Management Circuit) technology. This system channels kinetic energy through a resistor and a Graphene carbon layer, creating electricity that’s then used to filter out negative vibrations, thereby providing more stability and better edge grip on the snow.

(Porsche/Head)

The collection also includes the Protector PR 13 GW binding, which uses Full Heel Release technology to offer consistent release values in forward and backward falls, reducing strain on the knees and ligaments. Complementing the skis are Porsche Carbon Ski Poles with an aerodynamic grip and a lightweight design, along with a durable Porsche Ski Bag.

The Porsche-branded downhill thrills don’t stop at the skis. Two helmets are also being rolled out for the season, headlined by the the Porsche Radar 5K Photo Mips helmet, which features a photochromic visor that adapts to lighting conditions. Meanwhile, the Porsche Faero EXP Mips helmet uses a hybrid shell construction and Mips Integra TX system to reduce rotational movements during a fall. The collection is rounded out with the Porsche Neves Sunscreen ski goggles, which have an automatic lens tinting feature. Separately, Porsche also teamed up with Norwegian outdoor brand Norrøna on a free-ride inspired line of gear, including a Gore-Tex hooded and insulated shell jacket and pants.

(Porsche/Norrøna)

Every piece from Porsche’s wintery collection will be available at shop.porsche.com in November 2025.

Nike’s Lebron XXIII Sneaker Honors King James’ Greatest NBA Moments https://www.maxim.com/style/nikes-latest-lebron-xxiii-sneaker-honors-king-james-greatest-nba-moments/ Tue, 09 Sep 2025 10:15:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=271002
(Nike)

As LeBron James gears up for his 23rd season in the NBA, Nike has released the latest signature silhouette named for the league’s all-time scoring leader. The LeBron XXIII—doubly numerically significant for corresponding with both his jersey number and his time in the NBA—honors some of James’ accomplishments through a trio of colorways.

The launch scheme, dubbed Uncharted, commemorates the moment he became the first NBA player to score 40,000 points in March 2024. The second, dubbed Miami Twice, references the back-to-back NBA titles and Finals MVPs he secured with the Miami Heat. The Chosen One and the One Who Chose colorway celebrates him and his son, Bronny, who became the NBA’s first father-son duo to play for the same team on October 22, 2024.

“The LeBron XXIII reflects the deep partnership I have with Nike, pushing the limits of design and innovation to create a new signature shoe that powers my game and tells the story of my career,” James said in a statement. “Over two decades later, we’re still going strong, inspiring the next generation with a shoe that’s made for greatness.”

(Nike)

For the first time in Nike LeBron lineage, the sneakers feature a full-length ZoomX drop-in midsole, aimed at delivering more responsiveness. The drop-in midsole, made of Nike’s lightest and most responsive foam, pairs with a new Crown Containment System that delivers stability for high-force movements.

A carbon fiber shank beneath the midsole and containment system provides torsional support to enable speed, and a dynamic, multi-directional traction pattern improves grip for quick cuts. A lightweight engineered upper and soft interior lining maximize breathability.

“One of the things that’s so powerful about the LeBron XXIII is that the foot engages directly with our ZoomX foam, enabling an unmatched level of connectivity and court feel,” said Nike Basketball division exec Ross Klein. “From ZoomX foam to a carbon fiber shank and our new Crown Containment System, the LeBron XXIII is really about the best materials, channeling simplicity and reductivity into a design built right for both the Forever King and the next generation.”

(Nike)

The LeBron XXIII silhouette is joined by the Forever King apparel collection, which includes premium jerseys and shorts with designs that span his entire career, including his early days at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, as well as his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers. Two jackets, a hoodie, pant and short round out the Forever King collection.

Nike announced James’s latest shoe and apparel shortly before he wrote an op-ed in a Chinese newspaper, reflecting fondly on the fan support he’s received in a foreign country that he’s visited over 15 times since joining the NBA.

As Newsweek points out, he received criticism in the past for his views and statements regarding the ruling Chinese Communist Party [CCP]. In 2019, following ex-Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey’s post on X that supported a Hong Kong free the CCP, James said Morey “wasn’t educated” on the situation with Hong Kong and China, igniting blowback from some who claimed that James had abandoned morals for Chinese money.

(Nike)

James’ op-ed, titled Basketball Is a Bridge That Connects Us All, was published in a recent edition of the People’s Daily, the Chinese Communist Party’s official newspaper.

“I am deeply moved by the passion and friendliness of my Chinese friends, and I can only express my gratitude by giving my best in every game,” James wrote. “Soon, I will be starting the 23rd season of my professional carrier in the NBA. I’ve worn the No. 23 for most of my career. It’s a number that means a lot to me. Ahead of this special season, I am once again in China to start my next chapter with the fans here.”

As such, the Nike LeBron XXIII will become available in the Uncharted launch colorway first in China beginning September 25 before launching globally on Nike’s website and select retail locations October 3. Additional colorways will become available over the coming months.

Patrick Mahomes Sports Titanium Big Bang Watch To Celebrate Hublot Partnership https://www.maxim.com/style/patrick-mahomes-sports-titanium-big-bang-watch-to-celebrate-hublot-partnership/ Fri, 05 Sep 2025 10:39:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=270705
(Hublot)

Three-time Super Bowl champ Patrick Mahomes has inked another deal, this time with luxury watchmaker Hublot. The superstar quarterback joins the elite likes of track’s Usain Bolt and tennis’s Novak Djokovic as a Hublot brand ambassador ahead of his Kansas City Chiefs’ September 5 season kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Partnering with Hublot is an honor—it’s a brand that understands the value of timeliness, precision, and also performance. I’m proud to be a part of a legacy that was built on mastering time with style,” Mahomes said in a statement.

In an accompanying video announcing the partnership, Mahomes elaborated on the moment he knew he wanted to rock Hublot watches in an official capacity. “The moment was meeting the people behind the brand and seeing how creative they are and how they want to continue to push forward to be even better. And I think that’s something that really stuck with me.”

Eagle-eyed watch fans might identify Mahomes’ choice in wristwatch as the Big Bang Unico Titanium Ceramic. With a ceramic dial and a case crafted from grade 5 titanium—the superlatively strong form of the alloy—the watch strikes a balance between lightness and durability, though the prospect of wearing a 44mm metal watch that retails for nearly $30,000 on the gridiron seems dubious.

The watch was likely selected, perhaps with some encouragement from execs, because the Big Bang line is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Launched in 2005, Hublot’s longstanding flagship collection followed the 1980s-era Classic Original, which was the first true luxury watch to combine a precious metal (gold) with a modern material (rubber). In the Big Bang’s debut year, an example crafted from ceramic and titanium—the same materials used in the watch seen here—won that year’s coveted Design Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

Mahomes’ list of brand sponsors and ambassadorships is longer than his deepest pass—Oakley, Bose, Airbnb, Adidas, Draftkings Walmart and State Farm are just a few. But among them all, Hublot is definitely the most luxurious.

‘Countdown: Canelo vs. Crawford’—Watch Netflix Series Trailer For Sept. 13 Superfight https://www.maxim.com/sports/countdown-canelo-vs-crawford-watch-netflix-docuseries-trailer-for-sept-13-megafight/ Thu, 04 Sep 2025 09:15:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=270550
(Netflix)

The biggest fight of the year is just days away as Canelo Alvarez puts his undisputed super middleweight title on the line against undefeated light middleweight champion and former undisputed welterweight champ Terence Crawford on September 13. The megabout between two of boxing’s pound-for-pound greats will be broadcast live on Netflix, which previously dropped this 90-second trailer to hype the clash at Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas.

Alvarez, 35, has a record of 63-2-2 across his legendary career, with his only losses coming via decision against Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in 2013 and when he moved up in weight to challenge undisputed light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol in 2022. Alvarez unified the super middleweight titles in 2021, and returned to undisputed status in May after defeating William Scull to reclaim the IBF belt.

However, Crawford is the most dangerous boxer Alvarez has faced in years. In 41 fights, the 37-year-old master pugilist is undefeated with 31 knockouts. He’ll be fighting for the first time since beating Israil Madrimov in August 2024 in his move up to light middleweight. While Canelo is currently the betting favorite, many boxing commentators are predicting that Crawford’s elite skill set could earn him an upset victory even though he’s coming up two weight classes to take on an all-time great.

Before Álvarez and Crawford step into the ring for their historic September 13 clash, Netflix premieres Countdown: Canelo vs. Crawford on September 4. The all-access documentary series “isn’t just about sparring sessions—it’s the blood, sweat, and tears that set the stage for boxing’s fight of a generation,” says the streaming giant.
