(Audemars Piguet)

Audemars Piguet continues to raise the bar as it toasts an illustrious milestone, and while its lineup is plenty eye-catching on its own, the inner specifications of a new Audemars Piguet watch consistently raise the bar, as is the case with its newest Royal Oak timepiece.

Audemars Piguet watches tend to set the pace in the luxury world, at least as far as an impressive blend of bold looks and precise craftsmanship is concerned (there’s a reason Jay-Z, among others, is a fan of the company’s wrist candy). The company notes that with its latest release, “simple is complicated,” and so while its textured dial and visually appealing case might strike the same chord as other Audemars Piguet watches, the end result offers more than meets the eye.

(Audemars Piguet)

To be more specific: The new Jumbo Extra-Thin Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph RD #5 150th Anniversary does the nearly impossible by taking the Royal Oak silhouette and then retooling it with an inner movement that manages to blend both a flyback chronograph and flying tourbillon construction in an impossibly small package.

(Audemars Piguet)

Accordingly, just 150 units worldwide are available when it comes to the suitably rare timepiece, which Audemars Piguet says “marks a new era of complications, offering a balance of lightness, durability, and brilliance.” The company notably toasted its 150th anniversary with a new green ceramic Royal Oak Offshore this spring, among a suite of other covetable and ultra-exclusive releases. Of this new edition, Bulk Metallic Glass makes up the caseback and bezel, while the sleek 39mm titanium case delivers imperceptible thinness and utterly chic style.

(Audemars Piguet)

The trademark cushioned geometric AP Royal Oak case is offset by a striking blue “Petite Tapisserie” dial in equally recognizable Audemars Piguet fashion. Its hour markers and its 18-carat white gold luminescent bathtub hands also stand out in handsome and elegant fashion alongside a refined AP script logo. An integrated titanium bracelet finishes off the remarkably rare timepiece in streamlined style, and is another sort of Audemars Piguet signature.

(Audemars Piguet)

That the watch manages to look and feel as thin on the wrist seems to be a testament to Audemars Piguet ingenuity, while its dual functionality is also exceptionally difficult to pull off at a such a small scale in terms of thickness (the dial is just 8.1mm thick). The all-new Calibre 1800 achieves a degree of precision that’s not to be overlooked.

As the watchmaker says, the new Jumbo Extra-Thin Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph RD#5 150th Anniversary succeeds at “combining technical sophistication, performance and iconic design with a new standard of ergonomic refinement.” As one might expect, pricing information is available upon request for the stunning new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak achievement.

Shaboozey On ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy),’ Jack Daniel’s Partnership And His Favorite Denim Brand https://www.maxim.com/entertainment/shaboozey-on-a-bar-song-tipsy-jack-daniels-partnership-and-his-favorite-levis-jeans/ Wed, 01 Oct 2025 11:01:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272839 Much has changed for breakout country artist Shaboozey over the past year-and-a-half, but one thing that remains consistent is his love of Jack Daniel’s whiskey.

It’s right there in the lyrics of his inescapable hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” after all: As Shaboozey sings, “they know me and Jack Daniel’s got a history.” The song has been positively everywhere since its release just last April, spending 19 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and leading to four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, for the singer (real name: Collins Obinna Chibueze).

(Shaboozey at New York City’s Terminal 5/Courtesy of Jack Daniel’s)

In fitting fashion, its success led Shaboozey to team up with the iconic Tennesse whiskey maker as part of the Jack Daniel’s “Highway No. 7” cross-country music series. Ahead of a show sponsored by Old No. 7 at New York City’s Terminal 5 earlier this month, Shaboozey was grateful to see his dreams and hard work taking shape and paying off, saying Jack Daniel’s is “like my number one fan.”

(Shaboozey at New York City’s Terminal 5/Courtesy of Jack Daniel’s)

For the singer, it’s still all about being authentic as he kicks his “The Great American Roadshow” Tour into high gear. “I’m big on just putting parts of myself in the music,” he told Maxim as he prepared to head to New York City. “It’s just really cool that… with, the mention of Jack Daniel’s, so much support could come from it.”

(Photo by Daniel Prakopcyk/Courtesy of Shaboozey)

The ultra-stylish 30-year-old singer added that working with Jack Daniel’s feels like family, and feels like a more-than-natural fit. “That’s something I’ve kind of done my whole career is… putting some of my favorite things in life into my music,” he added.

(Shaboozey at New York City’s Terminal 5/Courtesy of Jack Daniel’s)

More than 1,000 guests got to see the singer-songwriter debut a new song, “Move On,” and the Grammy-nominated artist naturally brought plenty of Old No. 7 onstage. For a distillery with as much heritage (and modern innovation) as Jack Daniel’s, Shaboozey favors the classics when it comes to whiskey. “I like JD, you know what I mean? Some of my friends call me… the Jack Man,” he said with a laugh.

(Shaboozey at New York City’s Terminal 5/Courtesy of Jack Daniel’s)

Of a hectic past year, Shaboozey described it as “rewarding” and “exhilarating,” and notes that he’s eager for more, describing his mindset as “go, go, go, go” as he works to build off the success of his breakout third album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going.

(Photo by Daniel Prakopcyk/Courtesy of Shaboozey)

Musically, the singer lists everyone from Gillian Welch to Johnny Cash as inspirations, along with the gritty outlaw country of Townes Van Zandt, and naturally, the singer is a fan of any music with a focus on “great storytelling,” he says. Those inspirations should give the artist plenty to go off as he plots his next album, and Shaboozey noted his band will bring a mobile recording rig to try out new songs on tour for the first time.

(Photo by Daniel Prakopcyk/Courtesy of Shaboozey)

His perspective goes well beyond whiskey and songwriting, though. The self-described “jeanhead” is also a big fan of Levi’s and even starred in a short film for the brand’s recent Global Icons campaign. “I wear a lot of jeans, a lot of Western shirts, and it’s always about style and how I can feel good up on stage,” he said.

(Photo by Daniel Prakopcyk/Courtesy of Shaboozey)

Shaboozey’s rise in the music scene has taken him to the likes of legendary rock clubs like Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club, and helped him dial in his setlist and stage design (Jack Daniel’s whiskey bottles, like any good rock show, are certainly par for the course).

“The set is really awesome. We spent a lot of time dialing it in and trying to make it as great as possible,” Shaboozey added, noting that “it takes a village to get here.” As Shaboozey brings his global smash hit (and plenty more fun) out on the road, check out his setlist here and be sure to bring your dancin’ boots (and an appetite for Jack Daniel’s whiskey).

Tudor Debuts 1926 Luna, Its First-Ever Moonphase Watch https://www.maxim.com/style/tudor-debuts-1926-luna-its-first-ever-moonphase-watch/ Tue, 30 Sep 2025 11:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=273003 For your next dash of luxury wrist game inspiration, look instead to the skies: That’s what multi-faceted Swiss watchmaker Tudor did with its latest creation, a stunning example of a moonphase watch that breaks new ground for the company.

(Tudor)

Known for everything from military-approved field watches (like the Tudor Ranger) and the ultra-elegant Tudor Royal, plus the lightweight and impossibly sleek Tudor Pelagos FXD, the watchmaker hadn’t yet entered the world of moonphase watches. But the timing proved especially apt, with the Mid-Autumn or Moon Festival set to spring to life in Eastern tradition on October 6th, as the watchmaker notes the moon itself “symbolizes togetherness and the unity of family.”

(Tudor)

To toast the occasion, the company tapped multi-hyphenate and Tudor Ambassador Jay Chou, who’s dabbled in music, acting and directing across the decades. The result is a trio of elegant 39mm, 316L stainless steel timepieces with crisp, dressy looks to spare in spades. The Tudor 1926 Luna features three dial options (black, blue and champagne-hued), each with a contrasting moonphase indicator at 6-o’clock.

(Tudor)

While the dial design is utterly beautiful, Tudor fashioned each timepiece with its chronometer-grade Swiss self-winding mechanical Calibre T607-9 movement within, bolstered by an indicator that tracks the moon. The seven-row satin-brushed steel bracelet finishes off each watch in illustrious fashion, complete with “some magic from Jay Chou,” the watchmaker noted.

(Tudor)

On the precise and handsome dial, even-numbered Arabic hour markers contrast with arrow-shaped hour indicators, while its sword-shaped hands are part of an overall, vintage-inspired look that “creates a striking and intricate play of light,” while the dome-shaped crystal is another throwback-inspired touch.

(Tudor)

That magic refers to the collection’s use of the Chou-approved champagne dial color, a particularly striking effect that just might make it the most eye-catching and covetable piece in the collection. As Tudor notes, “The moon phase indicator for each dial is distinct, and Jay’s vision for the champagne-color dial model has come to life in a truly fantastical way, with the phantom moonlight gold disc representing the moon hidden behind an inky black cutout that slowly disappears as the moon waxes and wanes.”

(Jay Chou for Tudor/Courtesy of Tudor Watches)

The watch also nods to the year Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf registered “The Tudor” name (1926, of course), with a bracelet design made to follow the curvature of one’s wrist. Each luxurious Tudor 1926 Luna watch is priced in rather agreeable fashion considering its tailored appeal: Find the newest watch from Tudor online now and at Tudor boutiques for about $2,650.

The Best Chore Coats To Wear Now https://www.maxim.com/style/the-best-chore-coats-to-wear-now/ Mon, 29 Sep 2025 11:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272465 If it was worn by an icon like Robert Redford or Steve McQueen, there’s a good chance it belongs in the modern gentleman’s wardrobe of today. In this instance, that means the highly durable chore jacket, with its real-world workwear roots dating back to the French countryside, is as admirable a piece of fall outerwear as any.

Often featuring chest and hip pockets and a shirt jacket-like collar, the best chore coats deliver durability, warmth and roguish good looks, with construction that’s plenty fit for layering atop a selection of thermal henleys or a classic flannel shirt.

Fabrications range from the luxe (like moleskin or corduroy) to the ultra-rugged (like cotton canvas), with brands like Huckberry and premium designers like Billy Reid and Todd Snyder delivering an expert eye for detail. Your best outdoor life awaits, starting with these prime selections for a new favorite chore jacket.

Flint and Tinder Classic Chore Coat

(Huckberry)

In addition to its highly durable and frankly excellent line of waxed outerwear, Huckberry’s own Flint and Tinder leans heavily into the spirit of the vintage chore coat, first worn most commonly by French rail workers. Its new version of the Classic Chore Coat is a touch more modern in terms of fit and fabrication, featuring a mid-weight stretch cotton blend in a slew of versatile colorways. $178

Todd Snyder Lightweight Japanese Selvedge Chore Coat

(Todd Snyder)

The workwear roots of dependable denim are a natural fit alongside the tried-and-true silhouette of the chore coat. Famed American menswear designer Todd Snyder’s version turns a rich shade of ‘bourbon’ Japanese selvedge into a tough-as-nails chore coat that blends luxury with a dash of rugged appeal. $398

Line of Trade Carpenter Chore Coat

(Bespoke Post)

Line of Trade, the in-house brand at Bespoke Post (a true one-stop shop for some of the coolest gear for guys, period) dove into iconic, expertly crafted vintage chore coats and the brisk climes of autumn when designing its heritage-meets-modern offering. Priced at under $100, it boasts durable hardware, a throwback corduroy collar and dependable cotton canvas construction in a wildly affordable package. $98

Billy Reid Waxed Chore Jacket

(Billy Reid)

Tracing the provenance of a piece of menswear pays off: Billy Reid, the legendary Alabama designer, worked with Scotland’s Halley Stevensons on a custom ripstop fabric that was then translated into this expertly crafted chore coat. Fall breezes and autumn rain don’t stand a chance. $248.50

Taylor Stitch Ojai Jacket

(Taylor Stitch)

The French version of the chore coat (the original marker for the style) gets a modern revamp in a handsome shade of Bourbon Corduroy, placing this refined-yet-rugged chore coat somewhere between a workwear staple and a hybrid blazer. The San Francisco-based outfitter says this jacket packs a “serious visual wallop,” and we tend to agree. $248

Le Mont St. Michel Moleskin French Work Jacket

(Huckberry)

Go straight to the source and pick up a true icon in the world of chore coats: This handsome moleskin chore coat has been made the same way for over a century, and its tightly woven construction even repels water. $275

Carhartt WIP OG Chore Coat

(Huckberry)

Carhartt is essentially the first name in durable workwear, and the Carhartt WIP brand (which isn’t formally associated with the Detroit company) is like its cool-kid sidekick, in a way. 12oz. organic cotton canvas gets a diamond-quilted lining, while the boxy fit is ready for urban exploration and leaf-peeping in equal measure. $298

Relwen Pile-Lined Chore Coat

(Huckberry)

Relwen leans heavily on military heritage inspiration, which helps explain why its lineup manages to feel classic and yet fresh at the same time. Unique fabrications like rich corduroy and a soft pile lining complement rich brown corduroy fabric and a tailored fit that calls to mind a more rugged version of the corduroy blazer. $298

Filson Canvas Outfitter Jacket

(Filson)

With its highly durable canvas construction, sturdy corduroy collar and a plethora of pockets, this hard-wearing Filson chore coat is a prime move when the great outdoors calls your name this fall. One of the pockets might even prove nicely sized for a flask, along with the rest of your everyday carry. $199

3sixteen French Work Jacket

(Huckberry)

The famed modern denimheads at 3sixteen dreamed up the perfect pairing alongside selvedge denim, and it’s a suitably workwear-inspired moleskin cotton jacket with double-stitched pockets for expert attention to detail in every thread. $330

(Otis Harbor Springs/Shinola Hotel/Courtesy of the Shinola Hotel)

The idea that one can snap your fingers and be transported to a different locale entirely is an intoxicating prospect, but the new Shinola Hotel City to Shore Travel Experience is about as close as one can get to an instantaneous change of pace.

Arriving just in time for peak fall leaf-peeping, the exclusive travel package brings together the lovely tranquility of Northern Michigan’s recently opened Otis Harbor Springs alongside the mix of Motor City grit and modern refinement that is the Shinola Hotel, as Maxim found out during an exclusive visit to both properties earlier this season.

(Shinola Hotel)

Both share a curious, highly stylish throughline in terms of handsome design DNA: Former Shinola Creative Director Daniel Caudill was at the helm of the Otis Harbor Springs, as well as the impeccable Shinola Hotel, which brings the illustrious Detroit watch brand’s vision to life in stunning clarity. Complete with a Shinola boutique in the hotel and access within minutes to the company’s Cass Corridor HQ and production facility, you could very well say that the Shinola Hotel is the most stylish property in Detroit. Now, it has a northern Michigan partner to match in the Otis Harbor Springs.

(Shinola Hotel)

Available now for $2,400 plus taxes and fees across select fall dates, the Shinola Hotel City to Shore Travel Experience sees lucky travelers start their journey across the lovely autumnal scenes of Pure Michigan with two nights in Detroit at the hip boutique hotel. To kick off a prime fall weekend, guests then embark on a self-guided journey north to Harbor Springs for a two-night stay at the revamped, luxe Otis Harbor Springs. At the Otis, custom furnishings, Flamingo Estate grooming products and a chic outlook on Mid-Century Modern design speak to Caudill’s vision for a fashionable and yet heritage-minded update to a long-running motor lodge.

(Shinola Hotel)

The experience kicks off in elevated fashion, bringing visitors into an elegant Shinola Hotel Cass King room. Each property is offering $100 in dining credits, plus breakfast for up to two guests. It’s as if each property thought of every carefully considered detail, then improved upon even that high bar for hospitality.

(Shinola Hotel Watch Lending Program/Courtesy of the Shinola Hotel)

In addition to prime access to buzzing Motor City culture (and the hotel’s excellent San Morello restaurant), the Shinola Hotel watch lending program is an astoundingly cool draw for guests who stay in suites on the property. The VIP personalized concierge visit gives you the chance to select your choice of a luxury Shinola timepiece during your stay. To say that Shinola watches add some wrist game flair alongside an Old Fashioned is an understatement. There are even rarities like Shinola’s Petoskey stone dial watch available through the program: Putting a covetable Shinola watch on one’s wrist only heightens the entire experience.

(Otis Harbor Springs)

Guests at the Shinola Hotel are also encouraged to visit the property’s speakeasy-esque Evening Bar, where cocktails like the Spirited Away (a rich and sumptuous blend of rye and cognac, plus a smoky hint Scotch and a dash of honey) are especially delectable.

(San Morello/Courtesy of the Shinola Hotel)

San Morello’s rich, elevated Italian-American cuisine also serves as hearty sustenance ahead of an evening exploring Detroit’s many delights on foot. The property’s culinary offering includes more casual fare, like tantalizing fried chicken at Penny Red’s or refreshing steins of beer at The Brakeman.

(Otis Harbor Springs)

The same meticulous attention to detail can be found further north after one’s journey to the bucolic, revamped motor lodge at the Otis Harbor Springs. Set across 10 acres and boasting a “long-spanning legacy of Mid-Century Modern design,” the Fireplace Lounge is an utterly cozy, luxe-meets-rustic place for a round of cocktails.

(Otis Harbor Springs)

Complete with its original stone fireplace and sturdy wooden beams, the Fireplace Lounge boasts a visitor-favorite Otis Fashioned (a buttery blend of maple, rye spice and walnut bitters), while the About Last Night delivers the spice of mezcal and habanero with a cutting touch of floral blanco. Seasonal cocktails and small plates deliver suitably premium, utterly delicious variety for a weekend visit, and the bar’s mixology team says the destination is even popular among locals.

(Otis Harbor Springs)

The property blends rich and warm tones with a considered take on Mid-Century Modern design, with one story of 31 exclusive rooms set around an inner courtyard complete with lawn games and prime access to a series of lovely rolling meadows. In nearby Harbor Springs, perfectly classic autumnal Michigan pursuits await, from blazing lakeside sunsets to vibrant dining at NOMAD Harbor Springs (don’t miss out on its spritz menu, boasting Fernet, CYNAR and more).

(Shinola Hotel)

For those who crave the modern style of the Shinola Hotel (and the chance to try a Shinola watch on for size), the new Shinola Hotel City to Shore Travel Experience is a prime introduction to the famed brand. And just in time for gorgeous fall foliage, the program’s offerings at Otis Harbor Springs couldn’t be more perfectly suited. Book your Pure Michigan getaway now, and be on the lookout for future partnerships between the two premium properties.

Converse Reveals ‘Most Premium Chuck Taylors Ever Made’ https://www.maxim.com/style/converse-just-dropped-the-most-premium-chuck-taylors-ever-made/ Thu, 25 Sep 2025 11:01:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272511 Don’t underestimate the value of taking a closer look at a true style icon, and then carefully revamping said icon: Innovation leads the way in the just-launched Converse Chuck Taylor First String, a bold and retooled take on a legendary silhouette.

(Converse)

Called “the most premium Chucks we’ve ever made” by the Nike-owned sneaker giant, the game-changing kicks now get a series of tech-savvy and premium upgrades that manage to make the timeless high-top sneaker even better.

(Converse)

The Chuck Taylor high-top has proved itself malleable in matters of style in the best way possible, including a recent Our Legacy x Converse Chuck Taylor reboot, but this new offering sees the footwear brand stepping onto a new pathway. A Vibram outsole offers better traction rebound and support, while a wider toe box and Nike’s signature Air Insole technology deliver previously unheard-of Chuck Taylor comfort, all the while “preserving the purest expression of Converse design while propelling it forward,” the company said.

(Converse)

A trio of new expressions give the Chuck Taylor First String line some serious heft in matters of style and performance. Of the reboot, Converse says it’s “not trying to reinvent the form — it’s reminding you of why the form of the Chuck matters in the first place.” That’s certainly lofty (if not accurate) praise for the instantly recognizable silhouette, which now uses a 1950s-inspired heel bumper graphic logo and ventilation eyelets that also reference the same era. Nike sockliner technology in the interior offers serious comfort, for good measure.

(Converse)

The kicks also now boast a shorter toe cap for a more modern look, plus a wider, deco-stitch heel stay that further references vintage Converse styles. Midsole taping is also given greater height and thickness for added comfort and stability, while the Converse Chuck Taylor First String comes in three handsome fabrications: Thick vintage canvas, premium leather and a jacquard knit, patterned option for maximum style points. Each features a leather-lined interior and a variety of different finishing touches based on the exterior material selected.

(Converse)

Even the delivery of your choice of the Converse Chuck Taylor First String trio is elevated, featuring a dust bag alongside a heavyweight box, along with hang tags and a guide to the new world of Chuck Taylor First String sneakers.

(Converse)

Accordingly, Converse is presenting these kicks in suitably rare fashion: They’re available only through eight North American retailers (including KITH and Haven), along with fewer than 30 global retailers. Pricing for the newly available Converse Chuck Taylor First String starts at $225 for its canvas offering, and $250 for its two other editions. A tried-and-true classic now has the modern tech chops to match, and sneakerheads should take note.

Kim Kardashian’s Skims Partners With Nike For Athleisure Collection https://www.maxim.com/style/kim-kardashians-skims-partners-with-nike-for-athleisure-collection/ Thu, 25 Sep 2025 08:00:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272558
(Skims/Nike)

After dropping stream of different limited-edition capsules with high fashion labels like Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana, Kim Kardashian’s Skims is gearing up to launch its largest and most comprehensive collab yet with Nike. A massive line spanning seven collections, 58 silhouettes, and 10,000 different possible looks is designed for a wide demographic of athletes ranging from the casual gymgoer and pickup game participant to the most elite competitors—several of whom have been tapped to promote the joint venture between the multibillion-dollar shapewear brand and the athleticwear giant.

Three-time NCAA volleyball champion Madisen Skinner (Skims/Nike)

Among them are tennis icon Serena Williams, gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, judoka world champion Romane Dicko, Paralympic athlete Beatriz Hatz, double gold medal-winning Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda, world champion sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and three-time NCAA volleyball champion Madisen Skinner.

Serena Williams (Skims/Nike)

All of the above appear in a short Body at Work ad directed by Janicza Bravo, which reinterprets phrases generally associated with objectification in a way that’s aligned with Skims’ founding, body-positive philosophy.

Double gold medal-winning Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim (Skims/Nike)

“Put my body on a pedestal,” the athletes say in the commercial. “Celebrate it. Marvel at it. Glorify it. Its power. Its strength. Give my body your full attention. See it. Appreciate it. Understand it. And then, you’ll see what I can really do with it.”

Sha’Carri Richardson (Skims/Nike)

“Whether you’re a top recruit like our college athletes, a legend like Serena, or simply
showing up for yourself in the gym, every woman wants to look and feel amazing
while working out and achieving their goals,” said Kardashian. “Our mission is simple: to redefine the rules of women’s activewear. No more compromises. We’re combining high-performance innovation with sexy, style-forward design for all women who demand both.”

Kim Kardashian (Skims/Nike)

Three core collections have been introduced at launch. Designed for yoga and other studio activities, the Matte collection offers staples across 21 styles that employ Nike’s sweat-wicking Dri-FIT fabric to provide mid-level compression, smoothing and sculpting. The 11-piece Shine collection’s quick-drying capability and extra stretchiness suits it to strength training, while the seven-piece Airy collection features breathable, mesh-like material in both fitted and oversized silhouettes to accommodate low-impact activity and everyday wear.

(Skims/Nike)

Additionally, NikeSkims is rolling out four seasonal collections to accompany the Matte, Shine and Airy collections. An eight-piece Vintage Seamless range features seamless knitting and a stylized worn-in look. The Matte Tricot collection takes the core Matte collection further with three track-inspired layers. Weightless Layers join the Airy collection in low-impact use cases, while the Shiny Nylon oversized pants add another touch of streetwear-worthy style.

The NikeSkims lineup launches on September 26.

This Ruby-Studded Rolex Daytona From Artisans De Geneve Is A Custom Classic https://www.maxim.com/style/this-ruby-studded-rolex-daytona-from-artisans-de-geneve-is-a-customized-classic/ Tue, 23 Sep 2025 11:09:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=272239 If you thought it was tricky to get your hands on a new Rolex, try the latest from Artisans de Geneve on for size: The preferred horological outpost of the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Spike Lee and soccer legend Andrea Pirlo just dropped a stunning, wildly expensive custom red ruby Rolex Daytona.

(Artisans de Geneve)

The truly one-of-one timepiece builds off the white gold Rolex Daytona base model ref. 116509, which has been “creatively modified” by the craftsmen at the company’s Geneva headquarters for a mysterious solo client. Of course, the timepiece received an astounding valuation, given its rarity and its use of 36 “pigeon blood” natural, loupe-clean rubies: It’s worth an eye-popping $555,000.

(Artisans de Geneve)

The Ruby Rolex Daytona x Artisans de Geneve already makes use of the world-famous Daytona watch design before ramping up the luster significantly, as a whopping 52 diamonds dot the case and a red sapphire dial adorns the elegant timepiece (a first-of-its-kind dial design by Artisans de Geneve). The hands and rotor are machined from refined solid white gold, while the oscillating weight gets a red enamel motif in a nod to the color symbolizing eternity.

(Artisans de Geneve)

To say every detail is carefully considered in exquisite fashion is no doubt an understatement, and one can’t help but wonder (with great curiosity) the Artisans de Geneve client who commissioned such a striking timepiece (although the company notes he’s a man with “highly demanding tastes”). In a release shared through Artisans de Geneve, the buyer noted “I wanted a watch that reflected my passion for my favorite color,” adding that “I asked for the best, from stones and settings to the most complex techniques, without compromising on understated elegance.”

(Artisans de Geneve)

The “truly remarkable” experience  reflected “meticulous attention to every detail,” the fortunate client said of working with Artisans de Geneve, which doesn’t represent one particular brand but works on a variety of customization programs and truly masterful timepieces.

The independent watch workshop and customization company says there were inherent challenges in working with rubies on the bezel, all the while delivering its first-ever red sapphire dial. The atelier says it “embodies the fusion between people and watchmaking,” a sentiment on full display with this jaw-dropping watch (or is it a work of art?).

(Artisans de Geneve)

In this instance, the Rolex Daytona is souped up in other ways, boasting a hand-crafted, skeletonized Caliber 4139 movement. Watch enthusiasts will note that the Daytona normally isn’t delivered in skeletonized fashion, among other ways this custom ruby red Rolex Daytona stands apart in the horological world. While only one lucky client will add this otherworldly watch to their collection, it’s a fine example of the difference the right horologists can lend to a legendary silhouette like the Rolex Daytona.

Billed by Ray-Ban as “the world’s best-selling AI glasses,” the new Meta Gen 2 frames made their debut at Meta Connect. The new frames notably double the battery life of the innovative glasses (now featuring up to 8 hours of battery life), while 3K Ultra HD video capture also elevates design and performance even further, the company said.

Despite their sleek looks, the frames haven’t been without controversy, as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg ran into multiple on-stage glitches while showing off the frames at Meta Connect, DNYUZ reports. The company notes it has sold millions of units of its first-gen Meta frames, which graced the red carpet at the Met Gala and have notably been promoted in podcast and media appearances by Zuckerberg.

Elsewhere, the company has looked to the future in matters of silhouette and design, with brand ambassador and creative emissary A$AP Rocky debuting a trio of forward-thinking new frames at Paris Men’s Fashion Week earlier this summer, notably featuring “fluid, gravity-defying lines.” A$AP previously put his own spin on a new collection of Ray-Ban Puffer shades in vibrant colorways.

Instantly recognizable frame shapes like the Ray-Ban Wayfarer have been given the Meta Gen 2 treatment in the newest Ray-Ban Meta Collection, while the Skyler and Headliner frames offer sleek, circular design that Ray-Ban notes is particularly apt for day-to-night outings. The latest offering also delivers transitional lenses for extended wearability.

(Ray-Ban)

Among its new features, Ray-Ban notes the Gen 2 Meta frames charge to 50 percent in only 20 minutes, while video capture delivers a resolution with two times as many pixels as the first-edition offering. In total, the collection boasts 27 different color, frame shape and lens combinations. While no new technology appears foolproof, Ray-Ban is continuing to bet heavily on its tech-forward glasses, with the style points to match. The new Ray-Ban Meta frames are available starting at $379 online and in-store at Ray-Ban.

Rolex Celebrates The Oyster Perpetual Datejust In A Collectible Coffee Table Book https://www.maxim.com/style/rolex-celebrates-the-oyster-perpetual-datejust-in-a-collectible-coffee-table-book/ Fri, 19 Sep 2025 08:30:00 +0000 https://www.maxim.com/?p=271895 There are timepieces that need no introduction, and timepieces that require a second look: The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust is one and the same. It’s being toasted accordingly in a striking new tome from magazine publisher Wallpaper*, all the better for watch enthusiasts who simply can’t get enough.

(Rolex/Wallpaper*)

The latest volume on the legendary watchmaker’s most striking creations joins Oyster Perpetual Submariner – The Watch That Unlocked The Deep, released last fall to great fanfare as the first-ever authorized Rolex book. An icon in measures of status, performance and luxury, the Datejust timepiece has proven nearly without compare since its 1945 debut. In proper fashion, the story of the groundbreaking Oyster Perpetual Datejust goes to great lengths to illustrate its origins and its enduring status in a luxurious, coffee table-approved package.

(Rolex/Wallpaper*)

The Oyster Perpetual Datejust arrived as a self-winding, waterproof chronometer with an impossibly elegant and sleek design to match, befitting the times. It’s now available with a fitting companion tome billed by design publisher Wallpaper* as a “lavishly produced book” that now serves as the “definitive history of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust.” Naturally, it boasts official Rolex historical imagery and text from horology expert Nicholas Foulkes across 224 pages in hardcover format.

The tome celebrates the refinement and yet approachability of the timepiece for both men and women, noting its illustrious placement on the wrists of artists, athletes and icons. The timepiece even helped solidify the signature Rolex 3-o’clock date window as part of what the publisher calls its “sophisticated design and unassailable capability.”

The horology expert and historian Foulkes also penned the release of the silk-bound Submariner edition from Wallpaper* last fall. The ultra-premium new volume nods to the Rolex legacy in fitting fashion, said Wallpaper* Editor-In-Chief Bill Prince. The publisher notes “the Datejust became not only a symbol of worldly success, but a partner in life for all those committed to achieving their goals.” For those interested in a companion volume to pair with a legendary watch, pre-orders are available online now for about $136 via Wallpaper* until September 29th.
